Our AGM and Members Day was a great success, with speakers after the AGM in the morning speaking on - Wild Spaces, Clearwing moths and research on Brown Argus.
After lunch, we were taken on a guided walk around Whisby Nature Park by assistant warden Emily Summerlin. Mel Penson had brought an Emperor moth lure with her, which was very effective.
The Lincolnshire Branch of Butterfly Conservation was formed in 1984 and has grown steadily since then to a current membership of 690. Well over 100 people contribute regularly to the 'Sightings' page, with accounts, stories and photographs.

UK’s Butterfly Winners and Losers of 2023 Revealed
The latest results from the annual UK Butterfly Monitoring Scheme (UKBMS), led by wildlife charity Butterfly Conservation, the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH), British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) and the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC), show that 2023 was a mixed picture for butterflies, with some species soaring while others continued worrying declines.
